List of exploration work completed by AntOro:
June 2002: Mag-VLF geophysical ground surveys
July 2002: Geology, reconnaissance soil and rock sampling and prospecting.
May-June 2004: Geological mapping, systematic soil sampling over the IP targets
The Golden Hemlo Properties are located in the Bomby and Brothers townships of the Thunder Bay mining district, in Northern Ontario. The properties are 2.5 km east of the David Bell gold mine in Hemlo. Year-round access to the property is available by means of the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 17) which cuts through the Golden Hemlo I property. An exploration grid that covers both properties entirely, was cut during the spring of 2002; a Mag-VLF survey was then performed on this grid in the following weeks. The following summer, the company ran an Induced Polarisation survey on the property. The survey highlighted few targets that have yet to be drilled. (IP Results)
The properties consist of 5 contiguous claims covering an area of 560 hectares. AntOro Resources Inc. holds a 90% interest on all of these claims.
Geology on the Golden Hemlo project is composed of metavolcanic and granitic rocks that are part of the Hemlo-Heron Bay greenstone belt which hosts 3 of the largest producing gold mines in North America: the David-Bell Williams and Golden Giant mines. These three deposits are hosted in metasedimentary rocks of medium to high-grade metamorphism (lower to upper amphibolite facies) and still hold in excess of 11.8 million ounces of gold.
The company proposes to drill the IP targets after the soil sampling results are received and analyzed.
